At Nescot we are recruiting for a Head of Estates and Facilities.

What we are looking for:

We are looking for an exceptional and experienced estates and facilities professional to implement our campus estate strategy and lead a committed team in the day-to-day operation of the College’s 60-acre campus. 

We expect the successful applicant to play a key role in the development and implementation of an ambitious estate strategy. You will be an integral member of the College Management Team.

Duties/responsibilities:

The purpose of this role is to manage Nescot’s 60-acre estate in Ewell, Epsom, providing welcoming, safe and inspiring spaces and services to our community. The role will include some evening and weekend working.

  • Work with the Chief Operating Officer (COO) to align the estate strategy to strategic priorities and business risk areas
  • Lead and manage effective hard and soft facilities maintenance and upkeep of the estate including our extensive sports facilities, theatre(s), farm and car park; 
  • Develop and oversee effective planned and preventative maintenance plans; 
  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety and other relevant regulations; 
  • Provide leadership to and management of the Estates team; 
  • Manage successful estates projects that enhance the way we teach, learn and work;  
  • Manage and monitor KPIs for cleaning, ground maintenance and security services; 
  • Review estates policies and procedures to ensure they are in compliance with regulatory requirements and best practice; 
  • Deliver high levels of customer service and regular internal communications with stakeholders as well as external agencies and partners including the wider community

Nescot is graded ‘Good’ by Ofsted following its latest inspection in January 2023. Inspectors rated the College as Good in all 8 aspects. The report recognises that students “enjoy their courses and are motivated to succeed”, and benefit from “highly supportive relationships” with staff. Safeguarding arrangements are “effective” with regular training for staff, and leaders have in place “an effective policy for safer recruitment.”
