Part time (20 hours per week) / Term time only (39 weeks per year)

 

This role is Monday to Friday with split shifts:

  • Morning: 07:30 – 09:30 
  • Afternoon:15:30–17:30
  • There may also be opportunities for additional hours, trips, and transport duties as required.

 

What we are looking for:

  • Full and ‘clean’ UK driving licence held for a minimum of 5 years
  • Category D1 (Minibus) PCV (Passenger Carrying Vehicle) driving licence
  • Public Service Vehicle (PSV) Operator's Licence
  • Experience of driving minibuses/large vehicles
  • Excellent timekeeping and reliability
  • Commitment to safeguarding and student welfare
  • Ability to maintain accurate vehicle records

 

Duties/responsibilities:

  • Carry out routine visual safety checks of the minibus prior to each journey, including checking tyre condition and pressure, fuel levels, lights and general roadworthiness.
  • Drive the minibus safely and responsibly at all times, ensuring full compliance with road traffic legislation and College policies and procedures.
  • Ensure the safety, welfare and comfort of students and staff whilst travelling on College transport.
  • Liaise with relevant academic and support staff to confirm transport arrangements, collection/drop-off times and student numbers.
  • Transport students to and from pre-arranged locations in a safe, punctual and professional manner
  • Promptly report any vehicle defects, incidents, accidents or concerns to the appropriate member of staff.
  • Undertake all duties in accordance with College safeguarding policies, procedures and protocols
  • Remain aware of, and comply with, child protection and safeguarding requirements when working with young people
