What we are looking for:

  • Recent and relevant industry experience within computing, information technology, software development, networking, cyber security, data analysis, or a related field
  • Strong understanding of core computing principles and technologies
  • Knowledge and practical experience in areas such as Python programming, databases and SQL, computer hardware and operating systems, networking principles, cyber security fundamentals, cloud technologies, data handling and analysis, and project planning/documentation
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and effectively
  • Passion for supporting, mentoring and motivating learners from diverse backgrounds
  • Relevant degree in Computing, Computer Science, Information Technology, Cyber Security, Software Engineering or a related discipline, or significant commercial experience within a computing-related profession

 

Duties/responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and interactive lessons across Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3 AAQ Computing qualification
  • Teach both theoretical and practical aspects of modern computing
  • Support learners in developing technical, analytical and employer-informed activities
  • Prepare learners for progression to higher education, apprenticeships and employment
  • Monitor student progress and provide effective feedback and support
  • Contribute to curriculum development to ensure content remains current, relevant and aligned to industry needs
  • Promote professional standards, digital citizenship and employability skills

Nescot is graded ‘Good’ by Ofsted following its latest inspection in January 2023. Inspectors rated the College as Good in all 8 aspects. The report recognises that students “enjoy their courses and are motivated to succeed”, and benefit from “highly supportive relationships” with staff.
